The Best Kept Secret to Guaranteed Success

What if I told you I discovered something that is missing from every technical strategy training that exists and the reason that most people fail to successfully implement.

This tool works in any industry and setting where change is essential for the betterment of an individual or organization.

It can be used to achieve superior results for anything from personal reasons like weight loss to professional performance improvement on an individual or organization level.

As someone who has trained well-over 7000 adults, I often find that very few people implemented new strategy in any kind of meaningful way.  Some do a little, but by far most quit before they every really get started.  I used to wonder how people spent tens of thousands of dollars and didn’t do anything with it.

One day sitting in my office I happened upon a tiny little article smaller than this and  I knew I had found the key to unlocking unlimited potential for my clients.

I know it sounds like I found some mystical key to life and in a way I did.

Sometimes you don’t even realize what you think.  You can consciously say all the right things, yet still your goals elude you.  Day planners, journals, webinars, training, fad diets, accountability partners, coaching…no matter how much strategy and support you invest in, you continue to fall short.

Why?

It’s hidden away in the depths of your subconscious at work in the background while you struggle, fight, and claw your way to your goals.

So what is it?  You want to know right?

I am talking about an innovative and proven process called Immunity-to-Change that once learned can be used again and again to create continuous transformation, leaving no goal out of reach.

This coaching tool is the gold standard for transformative mindset work in my opinion.  I have found nothing that shows transformation in such a tangible way or that sets individuals and organizations up for such permanent results.

Immunity-to-Change is the life work of Robert Kegan and Lisa Laskow Lahey of Minds at Work.  Out of their psychology-based research, they have discovered the inner workings of the subconscious – the immune system, as they call it – that exists to keep you safe.

This brain’s immune system is also what limits you gravely when trying to achieve a greater goal that is outside of your comfort zone.

At the center of Immunity-to-Change coaching is the 4-Column Map, which is used to create clarity and reveal big assumptions that are driving counter-productive behavior and keeping you from achieving your goal.

Column 1: Identify a commitment goal.  So often, you may rely on motivation, will power, and technical strategy to reach your goals, but this will only take you to the point where the subconscious feels safe.  That’s why the next 3 columns are so important.

Column 2: List the counter-productive behaviors.  These are behaviors and self-talk that directly work against the column one commitment.

Column 3:  Identify the competing commitment.  This is done as a 2-step process.  First, imagine doing the opposite of your column two behaviors and name the fears that come up.  Then move the feelings into committed self-serving statements.  This helps you understand the self-protection, much like an immune system, that your subconscious is driving.

Column 4: Identify the big assumptions.  These are the assumptions that you are making about the way the world works and shows why your column two behavior is necessary.

At the end of a map-making session, essentially, you will have laid out the immune system within your brain.

At some point in your life you developed these big assumptions as a way of protecting yourself from bad things happening, but now you are trying to reach new goals and it’s derailing you.  This is much like an autoimmune disorder, where the immune system attacks the body and becomes the cause of disease instead of the protector.

You must create new learning opportunities for your subconscious to transform the assumptions to support your column one goal.

Another way to think of this is like a computer, where your brain is the operating system and the strategies you learn are the programs.  If you keep loading new programs onto that old operating system they don’t work.  You must upgrade the operating system before the programs will run properly.
